Partners in Crime: High Stakes

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 July 2026

Partners in Crime: High Stakes (“the app”, “we”) is a betting game for two people. We built it to need as little of your data as possible. This policy explains exactly what is stored, where, and how to get rid of it.

The short version

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, or any advertising identifier. There are no ads, no third-party analytics, no tracking, and nothing to buy. We do not sell or share your data with anyone.

If you play on one phone

Nothing leaves your device. One-phone mode is fully offline. Your game — the player names you typed, your points, the rewards you wrote, your vouchers, your language and sound settings — is saved only in the app’s own storage on your phone. We never see it.

If you play on two phones

To let two phones share a game, the app creates an anonymous account for each device. That means:

  • An anonymous account ID — a random identifier generated for your device. It is not linked to your name, your email, or any personal account, and you never sign up for anything.
  • Pairing information — the six-character invite code that links your two phones, and the connection between the two anonymous IDs.
  • Live game state— while you play, the current scenario, bets, points, vouchers and the player names you typed are sent between your two phones so both screens agree. This travels over a private channel scoped to your pairing. It is passed through, not stored — we don’t keep a record of your rounds.

One thing is deliberately never transmitted: the answer the Subject secretly commits stays on that phone until the reveal, so the other phone cannot peek.

What stays on your device either way

Your app language, your sound setting, and your saved game are stored locally and are never sent to us.

Where the two-phone data is stored

Pairing data is stored on our backend provider, Supabase, which hosts the database on our behalf. All connections are encrypted.

Deleting your data

In the app: Settings → Erase my data. This deletes your saved game, your points and your vouchers from the device, deletes your anonymous account and your pairing from our database, and disconnects you.

One thing to know: a pairing is a single shared record between two phones, so erasing your data also ends the pairing for your partner. They keep the game saved on their own device.

You can also email hello@partnersincrime.app and we’ll remove anything associated with your anonymous account.

How long we keep it

Pairing data is kept while your pairing exists. Nothing is retained after you erase it.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect data from them. The game involves wagering a fictional in-game currency, which is why it carries a 12+ / Teen rating.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and post the new version at this URL.
